I have totally been in the crafty mood recently. Until the last few days, the weather hasn't been nice enough to go outside, so I've been keeping busy crafting. A friend of mine came down a couple weekends ago and we made a very cute picnic blanket from pillowcases and sheets. It was a good time, but I learnd I am more a small project kind of gal. I just don't have the pereverence for large projects. Maybe in time.
My next project is to learn to make pocket or fitted diapers. I have been using prefolds on the little man for a while, but daddy hates the snappi, so I'm trying to find a more daddy friendly dipe that is fairly inexpensive. We'll see how it goes. I am dreading ELASTIC! I'll be sure to keep you posted on the progress.
No pictures today because my computer has been so slow. We're heading to Virginia Monday, and my brother's going to fix it, so hopefully when we're back blogging will be a little more consistent because it won't take so terribly long.

I won I won!!!
As I posted earlier, I was hoping to win the giveaway at The Creative Place. Well, I won. I never win anything and I'm so pumped to have some fun with the fabric.
I have also been working on some crocheting. I tried to make a ball, but it turned out looking more like an egg. But, my mistake totally worked. Easter is coming and a pretty crocheted egg is just beautiful. So, I made a ball, but then I want to figure out how I actually made the Easter Egg. So fun and so cute.

Sickies. YUCK!
We've had the sickies in our house this week. But, I think we're on the mend. I was able to get a little crafting done even with a sick kiddo. I was working on making some fabric coasters.
I got the idea at the The Creative Place. I tweaked the pattern a little bit because I wanted them a little bigger. I am just beginning at sewining, so it was a good small project for me to work on things like, umm, I don't know, sewing straight lines lol! I was very happy with the first set, so I am working on making several more sets.

The finished project. Very easy, very cute, and very cheap. I'll keep them on hand for when I need an emergency gift. Or maybe I'll have a booth at the craft fair? Put my crafting to some good use and make some money instead fo always spending it. Have a good weekend and remember: Spring is coming soon!

Inspiration
Good morning. I love to do crafty things. However, I lack any orginality, so I always "borrow" my ideas from different places. I have recently found a very cool blog that I have gotten so many good ideas from. If you need some inspiration check it out. The Creative Place is celebrating it's 200th post and having a giveaway. Check it out. I'm sure it'll become one of your favorites.
This morning the babe and I finally started working on our Valentine's Cards. He's only 17 months old so his help is somewhat limited. But, I want to pass on my love of crafts, so he gets to help. Nothing special, but hoping Grammie and Oma will like them. I'll be back with pics soon.

Welcome Welcome....
Welcome to life in the parsonage. We are a family of 3 living life in small town America. My husband is a pastor and we have one little boy who brings the excitement to our home. He also likes to help type, so pardon the typos. My little one loves fruit leather. We spend a fortune on little tiny boxes of that stuff so I decided that there has got to be a more economical solution. So I borrowed a friends food dehydrator and set out to make some dried fruit that I could turn into some healthy snacks. I may eventually get brave enough to actually try fruit leather. Today I decided to give bananas a try. The grocery store had bags of ripe bananas today for $.39/lb so I bought a bag, brought them home, and started dehdrating.
The starting point. Nice ripe bananas. I tossed them in some lemon juice to keep them from turning brown.

I put them in the dehydrator and let them dry for about 18 hours. Everything I read said to let them dry 8-16 hours but I asked the hubby to unplug them before he went to bed and he forgot so they got left on over night. I was worried they were ruined, but I think the fact our house is so humid saved the day.
The finished product. They are super yummy. I am suprised there are still some left because the hubby said the tasted like candy and was eating them as such.
It was so easy to do I decided to make some more today. I had some blueberries in the freezer that we picked last summer and some apples that needed to be used up so those are drying now. I hope they're as good as the bananas, I'll let you know how they turn out.
